Pastoral Transition
In August 2022, Senior Pastor Woody Maxon retired. Pastor of Outreach Maritza Dolich continued on for the next year, completing her call here in August 2023. In the fall of 2022, Pastor Sam Zeiser became Interim Pastor, serving in that capacity through January 2024. For the next period of time, Christ Church was ably served by retired clergy who are members or friends of the congregation, both in worship and in pastoral care coverage. One of those friends of the congregation, Pastor Paulette Obrecht, also a former Intern of the congregation, was asked to serve as Interim Pastor. She filled that role February 1, 2025 - January 31, 2026.
As of February 2026, Christ Church is again being graciously blessed by our members and friends that are clergy. Pastoral Care, arranged by the church office, is available as it normally would be. Each week, our worship is led by one of these supply clergy members in a rotating schedule including Pastor David Deal, Pastor Donna Deal, Pastor Elizabeth Haines, Pastor Thomas Lichner, Pastor Christine Nelson, Pastor Peggy Wuertele, and Pastor Mark Wimmer.
Dr. michael krentz
organist & director of music
Deacon Michael E. Krentz is Director of Music/Organist at Christ Church, having begun his ministry with us in 2009. He has responsibility for worship planning, and greatly enjoys leading our singing from the organ or piano. Prior to Christ Church Michael served for 20 years in Emmaus, PA, and he also taught and led chapel music at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia for 10 years. Michael lives in Lower Saucon Township with his wife Linda, and coaches tennis at Saucon Valley High School.
andrew lutz-long
assoc. director of music & networking
Andrew Lutz-Long came to Christ Church in July 2022. He serves as Associate Director of Music and Networking directing our vocal ensembles, assisting in worship leadership, and connecting with community partners through facility coordination as well as our digital footprint. Before CLC, Drew served as Director of Music Ministries at Trinity Lutheran Church in Perkasie for 15 years. Outside of the life of Christ Church, Drew is College Organist and Adjunct Professor at Muhlenberg College, Artistic Director of the Valley Choral Society, and Director of Summer Harmony Men’s Chorus.

Kathy has been employed at Christ Lutheran Church since April of 2017. Prior to CLC, Kathy spent many years working in the financial field. Kathy spends the majority of her three days a week in the Christ Church office, but she also spends a few hours each week staff sharing her gifts at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church.
Lisa Smith

Lisa joined the staff of Christ Lutheran in 2008. She continues to serve in this role/title, in spite of the many changes and shifts that happen in more than 15 years. In October 2024, she began a shared staffing agreement with Christ Lutheran and Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. She now works 1/2 time at each location, five days a week.
